The ongoing operation includes grading, pothole filling, and drainage clearing, measures aimed at improving motorability and ensuring smoother movement along these key road networks. Council authorities say the intervention is part of a broader effort to maintain urban accessibility, particularly in neighborhoods heavily affected by seasonal weather conditions.<\/p>

Prior to the maintenance works, many of the targeted roads had become increasingly difficult to navigate due to heavy rainfall, with some stretches nearly impassable. The situation had disrupted daily activities and posed challenges for both motorists and pedestrians.<\/p>

Residents in the affected areas have welcomed the initiative, noting a marked improvement in accessibility and ease of movement.<\/p>

\u201cI used to struggle every morning taking my children to school because the road was always muddy and slippery,<\/em>\u201d said Bessem Nora a resident of Palm City. \u201cNow, even bikes and taxis can pass easily. It has really made life easier for us.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>

Another inhabitant along St. Anthony Street, Mbah Gabriel expressed similar relief: \u201cBefore, when it rained, we were almost cut off. Some drivers refused to come here because of the bad state of the road. But now, we can move freely, and business is picking up again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

The Council notes that the maintenance exercise is expected to significantly enhance mobility across the city, reducing the burden of dust during the dry season and minimizing muddy conditions during the rains.<\/p>

As the works continue in other parts of the municipality, the Kumba City Council has called on residents to support the effort by keeping gutters clean and promptly reporting any rapid road deterioration to the Council, in order to sustain the gains achieved.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
