Kumba City Council: Third phase of HIMO project officially launched

 

On Wednesday May 29, the Kumba City Council and a delegation from the Ministry of Economy Planning and Regional Development (MINEPAT) Yaounde, in the presence of some Divisional Delegates officially launched the third phase of the High Intensity Labour Approach (HIMO) project.

The launching ceremony held at the City Council was mainly characterized by deliberations on how to effectively implement the third phase.

During the meeting, some crucial points were highlighted such as the necessity to encourage the youths employed through the project to save and use their money judiciously and also the need for proper and effective planning and follow up of the project.

Concluding the ceremony, the Secretary General of the Kumba City Council, Mr Charles Arrey assured the stakeholders present that the project would be implemented within the shortest period of time.

He equally expressed hopes that a fourth program of the HIMO project will be awarded to the City Council in the nearest future.

This third phase has as objective, the construction of a drainage system föm Mebouka Junction to Nkamalikum in the Kumba City Council, Meme Division South West Region.

The Kumba City Council it should be recalled is one of the few councils to have benefitted constantly from the HIMO project sponsored by MINEPAT.
