The Paramount Chief of Kumba, HRM Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko lauded the City Mayor of Kumba, Greg Mewanu for providing attires for all members of the Traditional Council.

The City Mayor officially handed over a donation of attire to the Traditional Council of the Kumba Paramount Chiefdom in a ceremony held on Friday, November 29, 2024.
During the ceremony, Nfon Mukete IV praised the City Mayor’s initiative, calling it an example worth emulating. “It’s what we should be doing more and more. I really appreciate when our own sons come up to support,” said Nfon Mukete IV. “We want to see more of this, and that is the most important reason why we want to raise champions. If there are more champions, it will be easier to do things.”
Nfon Mukete IV explained that the City Mayor’s support came at a crucial moment, when the Council was preparing to honor a former head Councilor. “So we have this opportunity where we are going to see off a former head Councilor, and I thought that it could be a good occasion for us to do something where the Councilors are all looking fresh and clean… but where was the means to do it? The Lord City Mayor so gladly decided to support this initiative,” he said.
Greg Mewanu expressed deep gratitude for the chance to contribute to the community, saying, “You gave me the opportunity to show the love that I have for this palace… to me, it is a tremendous privilege. The joy I have, and most especially the satisfaction I feel, is thousands of times more than the sacrifice I have made.”
He added that no material reward could match the joy he felt. “Nothing can pay adequately the amount of joy and satisfaction I have,” the City Mayor averred
He concluded by thanking the Traditional Council for graciously accepting his gift, as he expressed his appreciation for their warm reception.
