The City Mayor of Kumba, Gregory Ntemoyok Mewanu, has reaffirmed the Counncil’s commitment to delivering quality infrastructure following the Senior Divisional Officer (SDO) for Meme, Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong’s appreciation of the standard of work at the construction site of the Ultramodern Kumba City Council Chambers.
The SDO made the remarks on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, during an inspection visit to the project site, where he and his entourage assessed the progress of work.
Impressed by the pace and quality of construction, the SDO described the project as remarkable and expressed his eagerness to see it completed for the benefit of the population.
“Although we are not technicians, it is a marvelous work being carried out here. We are impatient because it will be great if the work is delivered as soon as possible for us all to benefit from it” he said.
While addressing the press, the City Mayor congratulated the BUNS, the company executing the project, for the quality of work delivered so far. he noted that the contractor was selected not only for its proven expertise, but also for its financial capacity to sustain work despite liquidity challenges.
“Looking at the quality of work, I want to congratulate BUNS that is executing the job. It is wonderful. We selected such a company because of the quality we are witnessing today and because it is financially capable of carrying on even during periods of liquidity challenges at the Treasury,” the City Mayor said.
The City Mayor further reiterated that the council remains committed to delivering the project for the benefit of the people of Kumba.
“I want to assure the population of Kumba that by December, we will make sure that the project is completed. That is the plan. The Ultramodern Kumba City Council Chambers will be officially received,” he added.
The Ultramodern Kumba City Council Chambers is one of the flagship infrastructure projects of the Kumba City Council, aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and enhancing service delivery to the population.
