Residents affected by demolitions carried out for the execution of the project are being compensated for their losses in cash and kind.
It should be noted that on Friday, June 22, 2023, stakeholders met at the Kumba City Council to select local organizations that would benefit from development grants under the said project.
Prior to the meeting, nearly forty organizations had submitted their applications for the selection process.
The PDVIR project aims to enhance infrastructural development through the rehabilitation of roads and other facilities.
The project is to disenclave a cross section of the Kumba II Subdivision. Feasibility studies have been made and some structures along the construction zone shall be demolished. However After a profound and detailed assessment of the damages to be suffered by some city dwellers, the City Council has started ‘one at a time’ negotiations for compensation.
